About Us
Evangelical Assembly Church
Evangelical Assembly Church is a constituent member of the Evangelical Congregational Church of India which is a perpetuation of the first Church that was established at Senvon village in 1910 through the initiative of Watkin Roberts, a young man from Welsh. The Church was first known as Thadou Kuki Pioneer Mission, but later changed to North East India General Mission in 1922 as its ministry continue to expand and grow beyond the then Kuki ethnic tribes. In 1985 it was again changed to Evangelical Congregational Church of India as it become a partner church of the Evangelical Congregational Church in the US.
Evangelical Assembly Church is a conglomeration of over fifty local congregations spreading across the dictricts of Churachandpur and Pherzawl of Manipur state, and a few in the states of Mizoram, Tripura, Assam and Meghalaya.
